We're talking members simultaneously online. An Access DB will handle much more registered members. I don't think Access will handle 20-30 members posting simultaneously, but that does not even happen at this very site. Depending on your server, Access might be able to handle 20-30 members online, most of them will be reading from the DB.

I have seen this error using free ASP hosts, i think you would be ok with using an access db as ruirib says, just try to find a less crowded free host, or maybe consider paying for a dedicated host where this kind of thing won't happen.

Maybe try a different FTP client if you are having probs, or have a friend d/l the old free host files and mail them you.

You can find a great list of free ASP hosts here:

It's hard to find good free hosts. Even paid hosting is not that good often, so if you're really interested in having a reliable forum, maybe you should consider paying. It's hard to advise anyone on that. Anwya if I were in your shoes, I would probably try some of the hosting offers of known Snitzers, like Gremlin (http://www.kiwibloke.com) or HuwR (http://www.reddi-web.com).
