Hi. I have a problem with the yellow/pink icons that show us the threads that have new posts since your last visit. They don't change after visiting a thread. For instance on other forums (ie- vBulletin, Ikonboard, etc), after you've read a thread and clicked back to the main topic listing, the icon shows as there are no new posts. But on my forum, instead of swicthing to the "no new posts" icon after viewing a thread, it stays the same icon that is supposed to show if there are new topics. Any ideas? Thanks.

It's not based on each topic, rather it's based on your last visit date. |

hi~ irondribbles, as Richard said, it not base on each topic, rather by the "last visit date" saved on members table and cookie. so it seem no way to turn the pink folder to yellow unless you goto active topic page and press this icon to "mark all as read".
but i think maybe someone can try doing this mod: copy the feature from active.asp to forum.asp page. there are almost the similar code between these two files, so i think it should be not so difficult to do this. |

hi~ irondribbles, i'm afraid that i may no ability to do this...
it maybe just my simple thought.. i know the "last visit date" will save as a cookie(or session??) to control the new/old post or forum status icon. but the biggest problem is... on forum.asp page, not like on active.asp we just need one, we may need a lots these cookie to specify different FORUM_ID status.
and i'm totally no idea how to do this.... |
