HELP! I turned on the auto logon feature of NT authentication and now I get the following error message on all pages:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a0046'

Permission denied: 'GetObject'

/oam/OTadmin/forum/inc_func_common.asp, line 970

I even tried reuploading the database and pages, but still get the error.

I had to give up and completely redo the forum. I am far too scared to even touch the autologon feature again. In reality, I think autologon is a misnomer. Auto logon happens with NT authentication, what autologon should be called is auto-registration.

Try installing ADSI (Active Directory Service Interface) on your server:

http://www.microsoft.com/NTWorkstation/downloads/Other/ADSI25.asp?RLD=407

I was getting a similar error once I turned on Autologon, and all my pages were inaccessable. I installed ADSI and now it works.

betheball,

Had you actually enabled some form of authentication in IIS before you tried the code? And disabled anonymous access is IIS.

Regards
