Yes but...
Until a couple years ago we had special fonts (like "Arial Tur") to be able to see Turkish special characters (üğışçöÜĞİŞÇÖ). Now we have them in common fonts, but they don't exist in some. I know there are some languages that have to use special fonts to see the non-latin characters.
Of course the user has to have these fonts to be installed in their machines. If you check the fonts settings in IE for example (Tools/Internet Options/General/Fonts) you will see the "language script" selector. If you change it, the available fonts will change (I have already installed all possible languages in my system for the sake of v4 development, they are installed during setup of the opearting system - for me w2k- when you set the locale & language).
If the forum supports multiple languages, a single global setting will not be enough, the browser will just use the first available font (from <font> tag) and will not show the language correctly. < |
