There were several made for 3.3, and some of them were ported to 3.4 as well. I found these by searching for private message in this forum (archived posts checked):

topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=41289&SearchTerms=private,message (3.4)
topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=42444&SearchTerms=private,message (3.4)
topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=29912&SearchTerms=private,message (3.3)

Remember, the mod made for Snitz Forums 3.3 will require some modification in order to work on a 3.4 version.

MANY thanks, masterao. These are simple codes, but they seem to have many unsolved problems, unfortunately... Surfing over links, I've read that a solution could be offered by the Private Message MOD plus the Pager MOD together. What do you think? Did anyone tried with that?

That is something that I don't know. I do know that Serverhacker is using one of these alerts for his PMs in his Portal mod. Im sure that if you asked over at http://www.shnforum.com/forum/default.asp, they will help you with adding the code to your pages.

Hi all,
Can some one who has fixed the AIM ICQ YAHOO MSN issue in the privateread.asp, be kind enough to post a link to a text version of it.
"Gareth Moore 2000" posted one but it is a dead link now
Thanks

Oh....Is that it?

Ok, I'm having a problem after adding the PM mod to my forum. Everytime that anyone sets a reply to a current message thread all that is displayed as the reply is the following error:

Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'

Type mismatch: 'cLng'

/ufpforum/inc_func_common.asp, line 671

What have I done to make this happen and how do I go about fixing it? I have to admit that at .asp and VB I'm a newbie and quite ignorant. Thanks for any help.

To have the PM notice Pop Up when the first page load happens after the post is made for the recieving party would make this the ultimate in PM'ing on forums ;)

Otherwise great implimentation of PM's ... ;)

Just a quickie,

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed (I hadn't until it was pointed out) but when viewing a message sent in your Outbox, the time sent is duplicated.

If this is true in yours then in privatesent.asp, look for this:

" & ChkTime(strPMSent) & "

in line 132 and delete it

Firstly, you should be asking in the "Help: MOD Implementation" forum, and 2nd you need to explain exactly what you need help with.
