Okay...this is bad. After logging off and logging on as another username, I realized that NO ONE is able to view these two buttons even if they have a completely empty Inbox. I have PM enabled in the Admin section so I know that's not the problem.
One note, however, I am upgrading from the 3.3.03 version of this mod. I don't know if that makes a difference or not....
Thanks in advance for any assistance...

Fixed it...something wonky with my inc_iconfiles.asp. A refresh of the file and re-adding the code fixed. it.

You have misunderstood the instructions. If you don't do the modification, you are providing links to the PM pages. It looks a lot better to display Private Messages Inbox (in plain text) than to display pm_view in active_users.asp. You don't remove any icons or anything by doing this modification to AU.
The description is quite clear what the modification to AU does:
quote:
You can also customize active users to not display a link when a member uses the Private Messages pages. By using this example, active_users.asp will only display text for all the private message-pages.
This requires changes in two files, active_users.asp and the lang-file that you are using.
In active_users.asp the changes are all made in the function WhatPage(fScript, fQuery).

the forum is http://www.thecgn.com/testboard
If someone can help me I can set them up with temp admin password, it doesnt even give an error message so im totally lost..

@tomic,
Just wanted to say thanks for a great mod!!!!
It worked right out of the box ZERO errors the first try! HOOYAH!
One question though now that I think about it concerning the graphics.
The ones that show up when there is a pm is the icon_pm_new.gif or icon_pm_old.gif if it has been read.
Now the question is should the 2 images icon_pmnomail.gif and icon_pmgotmail.gif be showing up? (They dont)
Thanks again John |

No- these images are optional, that can be used instead of icon_pm_new.gif and icon_pm_old.gif
But by default they wont show anywhere ! |

Roger Garth thanks man!
My users love this already lol. Next to the upload mod.
I would like to see the next version of Snitz use some of these wonderful and popular mods as standard. Think there is any luck in that?

The forum is here:http://mannix.uh-hosting.co.uk if u wanna take a look and I can give u a txt file of any file u need. Pls help |

@tomic: first of all - thx for this great mod - it's working fine since a couple of weeks.
But do you still developing this mod? Maybe you can add some features and improvements (just some proposals and wishful thinking )
quote: If you send someone a message, it appears in your outbox. Once the recipient has read the message, if they delete it, it no longer appears in your outbox because it has been deleted !
This was posted by gareth_moore a few months ago. Is it possible to keep the message in the outbox (save in/outbox seperately in the database), after the recipient deleted the pm? Many of the members would like to save these outbox messages to know what they have written in the past.
- Ignore-list, and the possibility to create folders and filters
- automatic redirect to the last page after sending a message
Maybe some other users implemented one of the features above or a future release include these.
I look forward to hear from someone
thanks rusty |

OK, I have a crazy function to perform in PM's and I just want to check that I know the correct function of all the fields in the db (in a nutshell, I sent out a time-limitted PM and I need to keep the replies and delete the unread ones).
Table format :
M_ID: autonumber M_SUBJECT: obvious M_FROM: id of sender M_TO: id of receiver M_SENT: date/time stamp of send M_MESSAGE: obvious M_PMCOUNT: unused ?? null in all cases M_READ: boolean - Has the receiver read this ? M_MAIL: unused ?? 0 in all cases M_OUTBOX: boolean - Show in sender's outbox ?
Can someone confirm this please ?
TIA |
