would this also work if a moderator deletes a thread or another user's post? let's say it has profanity and the mod deletes it, the post count will go down right?
thanks.

No, using the code above, the only time the post count goes down is when the user deletes their own post. |

for what you are wanting to do (decrease post count when 1 reply is deleted, and decrease post count when an entire thread is deleted [which would require all posters in that thread having their post count decreased]), will require an entire new function, and some modifications to topic.asp, forum.asp, default.asp, active.asp, search.asp and pop_delete.asp as well. |

so what you're telling me is to just give up, right? the reason for this is i want to be able to control the quality posts. i think it's essential for the community. just my point of view i guess. is it a difficult thing to do? any help would be appreciated.
thanks.

I can't work on it right now (I'm at work). But I will look at it and see if I can come up with anything over the next couple of days. I'm not promising anything though.
If anyone else wants to do this, go right ahead. |

I completely understand. I'd like to thank you in advance for just taking the time to try. This forum is probably the best help forum out there, and it all thanks to the moderators. Thank you very much.

8minus8 Try reposting your question in the MOD forum w/o code, someone else may have the time to look at what you reqiure. I am having a short holiday, so can not do it myself
