if you are bad at math just take number of members that have made posts divided by the total number of members.
so mine is 64/102 which is 60.7% of the members have made at least 1 post.
P.S. This is a stupid topic, but I'm bored. |

Actually, there are 425 pages filled with members with 1 or more posts, and there are 6 members on page 426 with one or more posts. That's (425 x 25) + 6 = 10.631 members. The total is 19195, so 1% of that is 191.95 members. 10.631 members then equals 55,384% So you're only 5.32% off according to my calculation |

But it seems to be right. And from time to time we need some senseless topics. |

425 pages have 25 members on them with 1 or more posts made. Then on page 426 there are 6 members with 1 post made. That makes (425 x 25) + 6 = 10,631 members with 1 or more posts made. Another way of writing it is saying 425 x 25 members = 10,625 members + 6 members on page 426 = 10,631
The total number of members is 19195, which is then 100%, which in turn makes 191.95 members equal 1% of the total amount of members. If you then devide the 10,631 members with 1 or more posts by the 1% value we just got (191.95), it gives as a result that 10,631 members equals 55.384% of all members.
Therefore, 55.384% of all members have made at least one post. In turn that means that 44.616% have made no posts at all.
Those numbers might be off a tad because new members might have joined and people with 0 posts when I got my info from members.asp might've posted by now, but roughly this ought to be it.
And who said math is boring?
The only thing I've never figured out is when I'm supposed to use a point and when a comma in English numbers for the decimals and thousands
Edit: Changed the commas and points for Nikkol |

commas to separate thousands. decimal point for the part < 1.
We do it exactly the other way around so I usually mix them up and use them whatever way the turn out best |

lol... after reading the original post again I have to apologize for the last sentence in my first reply. I didn't read the subject of this topic correctly and thought vweyes meant that his result was for this forum.
It doesn't show that I always had high grades for math in high school, does it? lol |

lol... yeah, I ment for everyone's individual message boards.
But you still don't have to do all that math... see on the statistics where it says 10631 of 19197 Members? All you have to do is divide 10631 by 19197. |

In Europe, South America, and many other places, a different system is used:
~280.000.000 live in the US = ~280,000,000 people live in the US
pi ~ 3,14159 or 3.14159
Kind of like Celsius vs. Farenheit. And kilometers vs. miles. And all that good stuff. |

% is rising everyday. This is because people used to sign up and then wait for their password, not come back, whatever. Now, with the confirmation of registration, my members that do that usually post. So the % is upped everytime someone joins usually. I'll have to look at a pre and post cofirmation number. It's about 55% now all together. However - as I about to add some features that will be "members only", I guess I should except some sign-ups with little intent of posting. Why am I babbling? ...back to football... |

I have 54.929577464788732394366197183099% (got to like the calc included with windows) that have made posts out of 71 members. It means I have 32 users that have not bothered to contribute...
Time for a cull of users again.. I hate it when people sign up then do nothing, why they bother has got me...
