Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'

Invalid argument.

/post_info.asp, line 981

Board seems to function normally in most ways - users are able to post new topics, however every attempt to REPLY results in the above error msg.
I am using v3.4.03 with no mods, access 2000, and windows 2000 server, service pack 3.

Thanks in advance for any help or insight into this.

Did your replies work properly, then quit, or is this a problem that's always been there. Your subject sounds like your forums were working properly and then quit.

Did you change anything else besides installing SP3? I have the SP3 CD but I haven't installed it yet, however I believe there are plenty of Snitzes running on W2K SP3 servers.

If you are using the ADO typelib definition in your global.asa, possibly the CLSID changed with the service pack? Just guessing here :)

Everything was working fine before the svc pack 3 upgrade.
Too make things stranger, I have narrowed it down further: replies seem to work in all forums but one (the busiest one with 2900 posts in it). I wonder if that has some significance.

BTW, Line 981 reads :
"my_Conn.Execute (strSql),,adCmdText + adExecuteNoRecords"

Thanks
Mike

One thought, if you are using an ODBC driver to the Access database, try using the OLEDB driver instead (in config.asp)

Just to make sure, run setup.asp and force an upgrade from Snitz 3.4. See if that fixes it.
