Just wanted to have a look, went to the test site, clicked Active Topics and got this :
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e14'
Syntax error in FROM clause.
/forum/active.asp, line 310

thanks, ruirib
Got it fixed and updated the zip file(see first post).
The MOD readme was wrong, All I had to add to fix the error was add a "," to the one line.....LOL . It's allways some thing small like that.
P.S. Sorry airilm it's just a name |

Netscape 4.7 is considered 2 generations old, not really something anyone will continue supporting wii. Most Netscape users are either on 6.x or the new released 7.x
serverhacker, I am going to take your database and import it to SQL2000 just to see if I can get it working with all of your mods ;) I probably will not use it but I can appreciate someone doing something like this, especially after seeing what you have done with your forum. |

check out his site, has nothing to do with what you're thinking. hacker is NOT always a bad word. in fact I would say the first use of the word was never meant for any malicious activity. programmers hack away at source code all the time to make it better |

I dont know about anyone else - but I really want a mod like this - but one that will let me use an existing DB. I appriciate the problems of missing tables etc.
One thought I had - I've just tried it - but with (some) problems. My db is Access. Why can I not simply "export" all the tables from my existing database into the new database? That way - all the new (required) tables are there, and also all the tables from my database (forum_topics etc).
I just tried this as I said - but I get some errors - is there something fundamental I'm missing here?
By the way - *excellent* mod ServerHacker - if I can get this working with my existing database - for use I'll be using it on a site that's getting thousands of hits a month !!!!! |

I know that.
The reason I still try to make my sites work in Netscape 4.7 is that I´m more sure that the sites will look good in almost any enviroment, PC, MAC, older IE and so on...

Hi, everyone. I have a question and I'm hoping someone can clear things up for me. I like the improved stability of 3.4.03. I plan to upgrade as soon as possible. I like these mods. (the complete package severhacker has done) I'd like to install them. I'd like to keep my existing database and have a stable snitz forum that I wont have to dig thru the code for a good long time. So, can I find the dbs files needed to make these mods work. Then Install the "new" asp files as "upgrade" and be up and running? I've read someone say they were going to attempt it, but couldn't find a follow up post. Or one that related to snitz 3.4.03 or am I going to have to install the new version, lose all the mods and have to start modding all over again?
thanx |
