I guess that I'm a little bit behind. My picture isn't working right. Do I need to link it to somewhere else? Also, I currently have 31,871 keystrokes that need to be pulsed to the server. But, whenever I pulse them, they won't go through. I didn't cheat to get these pulses, since I haven't pulsed for 2 days, and I had 3 term papers that I had to type. So is their server down or something? Or is it just me... |

BWJM, I am using this code that Richard provided.

silent frosty, I couldn't pulse earlier myself, so I think the server was indeed down. however it finally allowed me to manually pulse. |

It still isn't allowing me to pulse. I am up to 34,489 and I really want to pulse these through. So do I download those scripts and put them in my sig? |

PD has definitely had some issues over the past couple of days. The Team Stats page has been up and down, the Team Rank page has been down the entire time as far as I can tell...pulsing has apparently been an issue. I can't pulse right now either. <shrug> I'm guessing they're getting some publicity and lots of folks like us are starting to hit their API scripts...causing the response issues. |

Frosty: Find a script that you like, contact the person who is using it and request a copy OR ask if you can use the one they are using (especially if you don't have a .net-enabled server.)
I currently have a fully customizable one that I have advertised previously in this topic as well as this newly-recoloured version of the graphic. Much of the code in this version appears to be mine but the most important part came from Richard. Any script you find floating around most likely has something from everyone in it. |

yeah, just checked again, PD is not taking pulses, but I'm not losing them either so I'm not worried. |

Do you think the failure to take pulses is related to all the traffic these scripts must be generating? It looks to me like everytime this thread is read by someone, each one of the signature scripts connects back up to get the latest stats. And wouldn't that traffic be duplicated for each post by the same member on a page in this thread?
When I enter this page, the first reply on this page is Dayve's which fires off his asp script which will pull the stats from the project dolphin server and display the image. Then when the 2nd reply on this page is written, also from Dayve, doesn't that reply also fire off the asp script again, which connects to the project dolphin server to get the data again?
And wouldn't this happen for every visitor here who reads this thread?
I haven't really dug into what these stats scripts are doing so I could be way off base.

Hey Doug. One of the things I posted was a simple way to cache the image on the server for a specified period of time. So, most of the scripts will only process once every 5 minutes. Assuming everyone is using the 300s cache. That's bound to help. I just think they've probably gotten tons of publicity, and there are probably folks like us who are doing the same thing all over the place and their API's are getting bombed. Either that or they're just having major issues. Maybe their ISP is shutting 'em down for bandwidth usage or something. <shrug> |

I've set my cache to a couple of hours, its not really critical that the script updates so regularly imo |
