There is something about snitz that isnt nice. I cant place my finger on it, but something is defo missing.

The code is create and works like a treat but the presentation is way off the php rivals (vbulletin, phpBB etc etc).

So are there any plans to revamp the actual look of the forums?

(plz dont take this the wrong way, your forums are great) :)

Should Snitz just grab their icons while they're at it? Seriously, why just copy other sites? You can make Snitz look however you want. That's the job of the webmaster. Snitz provides a forum that's free and functions beautifully. You the webmaster can slip in whatever design changes you desire.

i suppose - but its had the layout since the mid 1960's and a change wouldnt go a miss ;)

There is only so much a person can customise the code - and having a quick glance at the code it would be a lengthy process to actually customize the layout.

If you don't like the way this forum looks, there are many other forum packages available, some of them are listed on this page: http://forum.snitz.com/competition.asp

I believe there are still plans (perhaps Devs can confirm) to release sometime after V4 a CSS compliant Snitz, this should give you ooodles more flexibility in layout and "theme" abilities for your website/forums.

Snitz is unique though so why try and be like all the rest :)

Yep, I recall that 1966 version of Snitz v0.002.004 wasn't it?

How can anyone forget the 50s model with all that chrome and those huge fins?

As others have pointed out, you could just mod a theme from another BB or one you make yourself into your forum code.

This is a lot easier now in 3.4 seeing as how all the icon data is in the one file.

You forgot to ask why all phpBB and vBulletin sites look the same. They might have a layout you prefer(dunno why you don't just buy them then) but they are all the same.

Personally, I like the way Snitz looks. There might be a few minor things I would change, but the overall look is very clean and uncomplicated. Too much extra stuff floating around the page is just a distraction from the important stuff: the content.
