I have been in the IT community for a long, long time now. I have been invited by HP to speak every year at the HP World Conference for the last decade. I was there for the start of the Kinko's world HQ Help Desk / 24/7.... I have paid companies 10,0000's of dollars for support..... however..
Nothing matches the quality and speed of support and community service that I find here at Snitz. I have little experience with Active Server Pages myself and did not want to update our forum in fear it would be down forever, but with this wonderful community on our side, we can't fail.
Everyone here, from the moderators to the community are truly the best!
Hats off to everyone here! You are super!

"Everyone here, from the moderators to the community are truly the best!"
Either that, or we're all.. coffee drinking, cigarette smoking, paranoid snitzaholics that live and breath to code. |

The feedback from our user community over the new version is 100% Positive. Now that I have the new settings in place, I need to admit that the upgrade to 3.4 is more then necessary, it is a very smart move.
The new features, categories, quick reply, smiles on the side, go to last post, sort features, new settings on view posts since (time), the list goes on and on and on.. This is an unreal product and value.
If Snitz ever wants a free advertisement on our site e-Powersellers.com - Home for eBay Powersellers, you have it.. just let me know!

I agree with what everyone has said but I have a new twist to the subject with my thoughts.
The idea of open source is good but conerned me for critical production use. There are so many people involved, not as good coordination of putting everything together (MY perception), bug fixes won't be quick, and many other reasons. A week or so ago, I was thinking about Snitz. It is open source in the sense that it is free (and that is no small word or concept when I think about Snitz!), many people put it together for free and scattered all over the world, bug fixes are quick and accurate, and I could go on and on. My thoughts about open source have changed quite a bit because of the way the Snitz development process works and the fantastic results.
Microsoft Visual Basic was a lesson for vendors in how to build products for people, especially developers and companies. Make the product so it is a stand-alone solid product BUT make it so that it can be extensible so people and companies can add what they need. Again, Snitz follows that concept. I'm sure it is one of the things that makes it so popular. No product can have everything. But a product that has most of what I want (AND is solid) and allows me to add what I specifically need that others may not, is what is needed for people and companies.
Snitz is a solid product, extensible, and free. I mention free again because I cannot believe such a product as Snitz could be free. There is no small effort by a group of dedicated people to put all this together. It is one GIANT effort!. While I am still cautious about open source, I am more apt to give it a chance in a production environment if it tests out to be solid. I would not hesitate to use Snitz in a corporate environment. If the need for such a product comes up where I work I will indeed suggest Snitz. Even for our clients web sites or internal intranets. I feel that good about it.
Enough rambling. Thank you developers. Thank you people who make the MODs. These MODs form the basis of a new enhanced Snitz as we have seen in v3.4. A lot of solid MODs that became popular were added to Snitz making a great product even better. And more will be added as time goes on. Kep those MODs coming, they are very important to the life of Snitz. Thank you people who use Snitz to power their discussion areas to make Snitz so popular.
Yes, this is a dedicated (maybe nutty ) community. It is more than development. As a newcomer I can see friendly relationships around the globe. It is just great to see.
As the commercial says,
It just doesn't get any better than this!
Thanks to everyone.

Speaking from some experience, I think you'll find this one of the most helpful communities around whether its Snitz specific or just ASP in general. I'm pretty proud to be a moderator here and hope that on some level my own Snitz experiences help others out. |

I have been teaching web development for years now in Athens, Greece. and in the last year discovered this board, and snitz. we have incorperated it into our intranet and it's usage has grown exponentionaly since going up ( i have yet to hear a bad comment on it)
this year as part of my class (now intraducing asp wich using snitz as improved my asp 100x!!!) i have pushed all students to downlaod and begin administrating a forum. this is probably one of the best, if not friendliest ways to learn to manage a web site, learn coding, and become a part of community that does nothing but improve each member.
thanx to all who post, work, and program
