Why not the choice of using Application session object? it will be more realtime based.

I never used or looked at active topics Mod. But do you mean the active ones are saved in the database? .. .. .. Thinking about it now, it would be faster but you'l have problems on a site whith many hits..

I've got a brand new one for y'all (I think). I get this error SOMETIMES, and I don't know why. Sometimes it works great, sometimes I get this error:
Error Type: Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A000D) Type mismatch: 'chkForumAccess' /forum/active_users.asp, line 379
It's kinda weird..I'll be logged in, and have one or two other people logged in, and it will work great. Then I'll try it when different people are logged in, and it gives me that error. Hmm...any ideas?
everything seems okay so far, except for the admin_home.asp - it shows the links for "main forum configuration" and "feature configuration" then i get this error...
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a000d'
Type mismatch: 'fLang'
/forum/admin_home.asp, line 131
the only thing changed in the admin_home file is the addition of the call to the admin_config_activeusers.asp file, and that's around line 139, in the block that starts at 131... i'm linking to a .txt of my admin_home.asp for reference... anyone help a guy out?

NEVER MIND!!! it was the language packs... did't upload them, or change the config file as i thought they were optional!
'NOTHER PROBLEM, though...
why is it using the default colors for text and links, instead of "in forum font color" and "in forum link color." with my color scheme, none of the names, words, or links show up in the active users field... they shouldn't use the default colors... if there is a way to change which settings it uses, just point me in the right direction, and tell me what to change...
