Hi all

first things first Snitz 3.4 is the bomb.

My question is how to change the rank & stars back to the way it was in 3.3.05 without downgrading, because we use a different rank structure then what you have in 3.4 which is multiple star format. we only need one star person becasue are rank look like this

also trying to figure out how to put a banner link to our site in the sig area but the way i put it doesn't work like it should.

thanks OSDD

You must have modified the function in your version to do that. The Rank and Stars functions can now be found in the inc_func_member.asp file you should be able to modify the getStar_Level function to work how you want it too.

use the IMG and /IMG forum tags (enclosed with []) for inserting banners in signatures.

use a combination of the URL and IMG tags to insert a link. It's right here in the FAQ Read the bit about clickable links.

If you set the first star level to 1 post and all other levels to rediculously high numbers like 99999 that could work, then you just change the star graphic for the image grapic .. of course this defeats the purpose really of having "ranks"

Being that it's ranks for a Star Trek group, I would imagine their 'ranks' would be setup different anyway. I believe the ranks here are based on how many posts, but a Star Trek groups ranks would probably be based on a military type rank. So by the stars default, a Private (Ensign) could be noted as a higher rank than a Captain just because they may post more than the Captain. But in a military setting, the Captain will be higher rank regardless as to how many posts they have.

Look at the getMember_Level and getStar_Level functions in inc_func_member and compare that with the same functions in your old inc_functions.asp file. That should give you a good indication of how you did it...
