SMILE MANAGER 3.4 MOD
Rather than just release this on to the public, I would like to have 10 or so people try it out and give feedback.
There is still a lot of work to be done, and the final release won't happen until 3.4.1 is out... but in the meantime, maybe we can shake out any bugs and I can get input on the UI and new features.
There is no readme yet, so I would prefer having testers who can just copy the new files over their existing clean ones.
If you are interested, please send me an email (using the link in my profile).

One quick note... I would prefer that this not be run on any live forums since the feature set may change, and all the bullet-proofing is not in there yet.

Two reasons:
1. It is important to have a bug-free and secure Snitz environment. Holding off releasing MODs until then will ensure that most users have the latest and greatest base code.
2. Since some line numbers will change, it means that MOD creators don't have to support two versions.

Here are some Comments on the Admin Area. Most are just things to think about rather than must haves.
1. In admin_smiles.asp, you could copy over the "Show Smilies Table" option from admin_config_features.asp I know it would be in two places then, but it would also mean that all the smilie admin options would be available in the "Smiles Administration" section.
2. On Admin Home the option is called "Smiles Administration" but once I go into that section it is called "Smiles Admin" in the tree.
3. Might be better to have a delete option on the main admin page. See Bad Words or Username filter Page for an idea. Also, mabye the whole admin section might better as a popup style, not quite sure?

User Configuration Section
The option that allows the user to select which smilies are shown to the left of the message box if you could add a "select all" and a "select none" option. Would save having to tick/untick all those checkboxes. |
