I think we use to have this and not sure if its still there. What I would like to see is the option when compsing a topic is the ability to check if you want to be notified if there is a responce to it. Not to have subscribe on for everyone. Just to have it there for the author of the post to be notified of a reply. This is nice to have for important posts that you realy need to see the reply asap.

I know you can turn on subscribe but that can cause issues with people subscribing to everything..

This has not been an option since 3.3.x. Last time it was included was, I believe, with 3.1 SR4.

What are y'all talking about? That checkbox is included in this very version, 3.4. IF email is enabled AND Subscriptions are turned on at the Admin level AND Subscriptions are turned on in the Category AND Subscriptions are turned on in the forum, the check box is there when you post. Now it's not there for quick reply, but it's there on regular posting....

You're right Dave. With all the version switching between 3.4, 3.3.05 and 4.0Beta I somehow lost track of that. And to add to that, subscriptions are disabled here, which is the Snitz forum that I use the most...

Thats what I mean everyone can then subscribe to everything. I dont want that. I just wanted the original Topic poster to be able to get notified if he/she wants it.

You'll have to modify forum.asp, topic.asp and possibly active.asp to not show the subscribe option to anyone (that's the easiest way). Then have post.asp only show the subscribe checkbox to the original poster (only when a topic is created).
