Hi Support,

I did the following steps:

1. Download the latest version and uploaded the unzipped files into a directory.

2. I created a empty SQL database.

3. I changed in config.asp the following two lines:

strDBType = "sqlserver"

strConnString = "driver={SQL Server};server=SQL4.IS.NL;uid=SQLswboek;pwd=xxxxxx;database=swboek"

4. I go to the setup URL (http://www.cableguy.nl/forum/setup.asp).

Then I get "To upgrade the database you need to be logged on as a forum administrator.".

Upgrade ????? I wan't to install a new, empty SQL database.

(If i try to logon I'll get Invalid object name 'FORUM_MEMBERS'. )

How does the setup work ?

Thnx, martijn

Run setup.asp like this: setup.asp?RC=5

You need to do the installation using setup.asp?rc=5 when you use a My SQL or MS SQL database.

Sorry I found out myself how it works, I'll have to go to:

http://www.cableguy.nl/forum/setup.asp?RC=5

Why is there no redirect to setup.asp?RC=5 when the database is empty en the strDBType = sqlserver ?

That's cause it's never been made like that. The 3.4 setup file WILL do that checking and guide you a bit more during setup (and upgrading).

It's a bug. It has been corrected for 3.4.
