it shouldn't be in the bottom left, it should be in the bottom right. You should leave it as is. And no, you cannot remove the hyperlink. Have you read the Copyright section that is at the top of each and every .asp file included in the .zip file you downloaded from here?
Have you seen the following comments that are in the inc_footer.asp file:
