hi friends,

i m new here


i like snitz forum

i m using brinkster.com a free asp service

i have just uploaded my forum but i m getting this error so plz someone help me out.plz........


There has been an error !!

The database could not be opened !!
Check your config.asp file and set the
strConnString so it points to the database.
Also check if strDBType is set to the right databasetype.



Code : 80004005

so now you guys plz help me out

NOTE: i have replaced forum files with brinkster files but still getting this error...so what i do now....

did you edit the config.asp file and uncomment the strDBType and edit/uncomment the strConnString ?

ya edit the config.asp and i tape there at two places my brinkster username

but i m getting error

and i just type it in the config.asp in two places as you can see my last post...

i uploaded the mdb file in the db directory ...but i don't know what i do now....


because i don't know much about database system...

in the config.asp file above, you are trying to use mysql, on Brinkster, if you have a free account, then you'll be using Access, not MySQL.

I already changed the name of it for you.

But basically you just change the name of the actual file in the /db/ folder, and then edit the config.asp file and make sure it's pointing to the correct filename.
