| It's my understanding that version 3.4 of the forums is going to have a way to create groups, and then allow only certain groups to view certain forums. Is this group functionality also going to be integrated with the event calendar code so that only certain groups of users can be allowed to view certain events? |

| The Events Calendar is not a released part of Snitz Forums. It's a mod, so, whoever the mod author is (and I assume quite a bit of re-writing will have to happen) will determine how it's integrated with the system. Until 3.4 comes out and mod-writers are able to learn the base code, I don't think you'll get much of an answer. |

That's about what I figured. I'm thinking to upload one I've been working on to see what people think. Waiting for 3.4 to be released first.
Mine includes things like Event Reminder, Event RSVP, and several different fields than the generic one includes. However, it's only SQL Server compatible. |

I had the Group Cat for some time now ( I Created it ).
I had the same idea about the events. and i udpated the events to filter by the groups id.
It worked great!
i will be posting the code ASAP! |

If you are going to release it as a MOD you should make it compatable with all the databases supported by the forum not just SQL server |

Just to be sure... (I'm really new here)
As far as I understand it's a build in feature of version 3.4x to create "groups of categories" for a better organisation of different subject areas (easily found that in my Admin Options...) but in contrast to bax's posting I can't find any build in option to create "groups of users"... (that would be enormously helpful to me)
Is that what you folks are talking about here? Building a MOD that will integrate "user grouping" AND a "administration/calendar for events"?
That would be definitely great!!!
AND it should be made combatible with all db's (for the reason that I dont have SQL-Server  ...) |

I have a verion of events that works with 3.4 and will use the group Cat's as a filter.
However i didnt create the Calender events mod so i didnt Update it to 3.4 standards.
I will post when i have soon. maybe whoever created the events will update it |

What is the current version of Events Calendar?
I had V2 SR1 and it installed into 3.4 ok. and i updated to use the Group categories.
I want to use the currect version on add in the Group support what should i use and where is it.
