I have it up and running fine. But noticed that if you are in chat, leave by the back button or whatever, go back to the login screen, it correctly tells you "You're already in there, sign on as somebody else" (summarized). Well, this screen doesn check passwords or registered users and you can enter any ole name and it lets you in. So there you are in the chat and nobody knows who you are when they try to click on your name for a profile.

Here's something that is kinda annoying if you're moving over from a Java Script Client or mIRC:
When you enter your text and it appears on the screen, you have to take your mouse and put the cursor back in the 'Enter Text' field. Any suggestions on how to get around that? Otherwise I think it works pretty darn well!

i've implemented a similar chat on my site but noticed several bugs or incorrect functionalities with asp chats in general.
-the need for constant html refreshes. -user status. If you close the windows or click back or something, it still thinks you're on. -taxing on the servers with anything more than 25 users simultaneous. -creating and keeping track of different rooms. -users expect more since they've used stuff like mIRC and other chat programs.
Although I think adding chat to your site with snitz forum is a great idea and that this is a good addon, Chatting in ASP does not really work well.

Something you may want to look at. http://www.coolcafe.ca This guy Pierre looks to have made a pretty solid version based on the Conquer Chat stuff. It uses a database as well to store registered users and profiles etc. I'm not all that great at ASP but I asked him how hard it would be to integrate it with an existing forum like snitz. He said the the database is accessed at login and then stores all the information in variables or something like that. So in theory it would be easy to integrate since it only accesses the database at login.
He will be realease an updated version probably soon this week. Just thought you may want to try to work with that as oppossed to conquer chat.
Did I mention is supports multiple languages? David

I am looking to integrate a Chat into our incarnation of Snitz, I have installed the Conqueror add-in posted above, and it works.
What I am looking to do is incorporate a multi-room job, able to create rooms on the fly, with passwords, for privacy, having personal colours stored too would be nice. Also to be able to distinguish between saying something, and actions would be funky.
Any ideas?

If someone doesn't log out, how do you get that person's name out of the room?

You wait for them to time out. The Timeout parameters are in Contants.inc file. Which you can modify the timeout length to, amongst other options

a small flaw. the input size of message is set to 60, too big for netscape users that they won't see the buttons right.
good work. btw, does it support smilies i found that C-chat has published v3.0 what version was this based on?
