Is there really a benefit to doing this? Is it okay to set Auto Shrinking? I've read some white papers on the net and in help files but I would like input from those of you have have been using MS SQL2000 for awhile.

The benefit is to keep the "wasted" database space under control, since there can be quite a bit of free space in the database files. Here you have some links on the advantages and disadvantages:

You can set Auto Shrinking. I usually do it and have no problems with it.
