i thought i would ask here before trying to recreate the wheel.
i'm looking for an external utility (so i guess it couldn't technically be called a mod) to write to the FORUM_TOPICS table in the database.
i want to gate messages between forums, and fidonet (and possible a newsgroup and a mailing list).
the long term goal is a moderators tool so that the admin doesn't need to login. the utility would be completely external.
i wrote some quick proof-of-concept code in perl with the Win32:ODBC module to read the FORUM_TOPICS table, and that worked fine. i tried writing to it, but the table doesn't seem get updated. i'm obviously missing something. looking at the asp code didn't offer any clues.
am i wasting my time with this?
