I keep tossing around the idea of creating a genealogy mod. I've looked around all over the place for an asp script for genealogy and ancestry but there is NOTHING out there. I did find two php versions and one of them is a mod for the php nuke. It's at http://www.mynukegenealogy.de.
Has anyone attempted something like this or even thought of building this?
I've been strongly considering doing it myself and I want to integrate it in my Snitz forum site so I'm able to utilize the database, user login, and other functions. The problem is this: I could either build it simple or fully-functional. If I build it simple, I could do it all myself and use just a few tables and have it up and running within a few days. If I build it complex, I would definitely need some help and it would take a while to build. Also, if I build it simply, I probably wouldn't be able to offer it as a mod. However, if I had assistance from the right people who have done mods before, it could be offered as a mod for others to install on their sites.
I know something like this wouldn't fit for everyone's site but my site is family-based with genealogical information on it.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Actually, I had thought about integrating something like this into my website at some point, but I haven't quite made it that far. I've ran into a few other snags that I'm working on first.

I found this. At least it's something. It imports GEDCOM files into Access and can display the info using ASP pages.
