I'm currently running, alongside my Snitz forum, a Digichat hosted chat, which I am unhappy with as it keeps crashing. Does anyone have any recommendations for alternative chat solutions that they have found to work well? Basis features I would like are: integration with Snitz login, private messages, smileys, good speed. I downloaded one of the chat mods but it didn't seem to be in English. Anyone got any views? It doesn't have to be a Snitz mod, but the hosting people I use don't want chat software installed on their server as they feel it hogs performance too much. Any views anyone?
Thanks,
Mark

there is one here http://www.nintendo4you.dk/tmpj/content/file_library.asp called snitzy chat and one called Dream chat on that page
you may also want to check out http://ls3k.com/snitz/mods.asp they have lots of mods there
ON the non snitz mod front, there was one posted a while back, a flash chat one i think, i cant find it at the moment but if i can will post a link.

I recommend against an ASP based chat and that you go with something like java especially if you plan on having a lot of chat room use. Otherwise it's a matter of time before you get a nasty letter from your hosting company. If you have your own server then i would ignore this and go with whatever
