Is there anyway to slow down the fade?
Make it sit on each record for 1 or 2 seconds?

Thanks,

Mike

I did that Richard, I even set it out to 1000. But it doesn't slow down.
It seems that when you loop the recordset it resets that value and goes into the next record?

I believe to slow it down you have to set it to a lower #, and 1 is the lowest I think.

Does anyone have the code that will show ALL announcements on the page, not just the newest announcement. I have been unable to find it.

Thanks

I just tried them and they seemed to work fine.

Here is the same message with different links:

quote:

Here are the files (just right click and choose "Save Target As")

http://www.freecfm.com/r/richard/files/default.txt

In default.txt you will be looking for:

<!--#INCLUDE FILE="inc_announce2.asp" -->

http://www.freecfm.com/r/richard/files/inc_top.txt

In inc_top.txt you will be looking for:

function openAnnounceWindow(url) {  popupWin = window.open(url,'new_page','width=400,height=400,scrollbars=yes')}

The last 2 files just use them as is:

http://www.freecfm.com/r/richard/files/inc_announce2.txt

http://www.freecfm.com/r/richard/files/view_announcements.txt

One addition you'll need to make to view_announcements.asp on line #55:

mLev = cint(ChkUser2(strDBNTUserName, Request.Cookies(strUniqueID & "User")("Pword")))

Thank you. I think the hardest part was removing the code from the original mod. I have found ExamDiff (or similar file compare app) to be indispensible when finding the right spot to place the code. Line numbers lose their usefulness after about five mods.
Thank you, Richard.

you might want to slow down the fade a little bit. I clicked on welcome and was taken here: http://www.bhabus.com/forums/view_announcements.asp

You just have to click on it before it starts fading away.
