Well, I've made a simple mod for one of my sites for a new mod. I need to do an editorial one, and the concept is almost the same. Only difference is that I am the editor for these articles. Therefore, I always post them. I'd like to make it say the true author's name.
So, I've got the whole "add article" thing down. My question is, do you think the best way to do what I want is to have it change the <input hidden author field> in post.asp to a dropdown menu of my writers when I'm posting? Would it be that simple? To me it is, but I wanted to post here just to think "out loud" in case you think I should go about some other way.

I'm a little confused. If your the editor, then why not just let them post their own articles in a forum that is moderated by you? That way you can edit their posts prior to approving them.

One reason is I don't want the forum to be moderated. I want free replies, and if someone wishes to start their own topic, that's fine.
My writers usually e-mail me a story, I enter it in the db I'm using now along with a writers field. Sometimes people make a topic to reply, but I know the response would be much better if I made this part of Snitz.

At the snitz exchange I just have a little box that I can enter the user id of the user I wish to 'transfer' the record too. Then when I hit submit that ID is used instead of mine.
