Hi~ by this chance, maybe someone can explain for me.. how to configure the email setting exactly? i never get it successful..
as i know (and not sure..), the CDONTS & Chili CDONTS doesn't need a SMPT server setting. but when i try it, everytime he told me the mail send out successful.... i just never received it !!
and the others email components seem need a correct SMTP setting to work. so i ask my host, but he seem can't understand what i mention (coz i also have confused by myself)... then he just tell me that most of SMTP server DO NOT support the mail relay function.....
does it mean i must look for a Public SMTP ?? if so, where i can find it ??
thanks if someone can explain for me.

Unfortunately, this is the misnomer which everyone assumes, CDONTS DOES require an SMTP server, but it must be hard coded in the virtual SMTP component of IIS, so if it has not been set up by your host, then you can't use CDONTS.

As long as you make sure that the email address that you use for the forum (sender address) is a valid email account on the smtp server you use, then it will not be relaying mail. relaying means it will accept mail from any domain.

Where are you osting your forum? Ask them if they support sending email from your web pages, if so How?
