When ever i try to run setup.asp through my browser all I get is the text file displayed (as if looking at it through notepad).

Any ideas

Your server might not support ASP scripts.

Try mailing your support or providing more details on your host here, maybe someone else is on the saem service and knows whats up.

I am using lycos/tripod.
and have used asp scripts before

Not on tripod, for sure. They don't support ASP. They run Linux/Unix machines and I don't think they use Chili!ASP to provide ASP support.

Well sure you could have used files with a .asp extension, as long as they only had HTML inside of them. But ruirib is correct, tirpod doesn't have (and will never have) ASP support.
