I know I am fumble fingered and all that but.. I had trouble registering on my own forum and on this one. It seems that while it tells you it failed to register you for one reason or another, it does it successfully and then when you try again, it tells you that the name is already taken. A newbe might just go away. Gets frustrating and I am afraid it will drive the less-than-determined away from my new board. Any suggestions?

Could you tell us what reason it gave you when it said the registration wasn't complete? It's kind of difficult to fix a problem when we don't know what the symptoms are

I finally found the solution down in the MODs forum. What it amounts to is that when trying to register, you get error messages aparently due to some re-direction problem that I do not understand.. The messages tend to say that this or that field does not match or is a duplicate. Very Confusing. The guys on the other string talked about it and said that it would be fixed in 3.4 and that the login box would be taken off of some pages. I view this as a most serious bug for new sites and wish that anyone that knows a workaround would point it out. Even if it is just text that I can jam into the registration code. (and hopefully how to do it)

One more thing... I know this is heracy but I would like to let people register without a valid email address. Any suggestions on that?
