Hi, just installed 4.x beta (although the Version info says 3.3.03) -
IIS 5, SQL 2000, NT authentication. Installed the Sticky Topic Mod.
My problem is this; I don't get smiley options (for new topic icons). Under the "lock the topic after post" checkbox, theres a colon, with two radio buttons with question marks next to them.
So it looks like I'm doing something substantially wrong.
I had problems with the language pack, had to do the replace all "* with " fix - could that have something to do with it? Do I have to allow images in the posts?
Any help would be appreciated.

Why? It is 1:30 am here and I'm awake, but not 100% online because I'm on dial-up  .
First of all click the link in my signature (examine it carefully) and make sure you load the patches. If you have read the descriptions on sourceforge and/or readme.txt in the package you would find a link to the patches (http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=16673 ). The patches solve some functional issues and also some security related things. It also removes the * signs. replacing * is not a good solution you should (I use | to indicate start and end):
replace
|" = "*|
with
|" = "|
Otherwise a lot of things may go wrong. Anyway just apply the patches.
The version says v3.3.03 and the reason is explained on the link.
You don't have to allow images for smilies.
I did not understand what you refer in others. After applying the patches, please re-try and see what happens. Remove the mod and see if it works. Probably it is caused by the MOD (I don't know it, but it will be standart in the next version).
For further questions, a link will help a lot. If you are not online, a picture can suffice.

You are using a BETA version which is not fully supported on this site yet. Bozden is really the only one supporting it. The problem you mentioned is related to the code changes that were made for the Internationalization of this forum. As such, Bozden is the one who is most qualified to help you. Adding MODS to a BETA version makes it even more difficult to fix a problem.< |

Well - what to do first?
1) Thank Bozden for his help.
2) Make a joke about him answering posts @ 1:30 a.m.
3) Make a joke about his dial-up (always an easy target)
4) grovel and beg forgiveness of Bozden/Kinser for being presumptuous regarding my all-important post.
5) All of the above (possible?)
Anyway, thanks much for the info. Applied patches. odd characters gone now. While I'm on the soapbox, I'd like to thrown in that I love the software, love the fact that it's free, and think the community on here is great.

You're welcome, but please don't speak about my dial-up. No xDSL ports available in one of the largest cities on the world (actually there were a test for it for only 4096 ports nationwide) ...
