I feel same:((

I am from Turkiye and our 2 forums were hacked yesterday. And the other one is visited by the hackers!!!

We changed the database name immediately, deleted members.asp file and changed the passwords to try to protect it while we are adapting security bug codes --but we noticed that after changing the name of database name some of the turkish fonts were changed and couldnt be corrected..

Do you know the reason? and can you help me?

The other forums were hacked but before we got the mails from hackers, first some of our turkish fonts were broken. Is there any connection between being hacked and the change of the fonts?

Also, how can we stop accepting direct membership? We want to keep the applied members wait for some time to get necessary info about them?

Thanks..

Selam,

1) What do you mean by Turkish Fonts? Renaming the database has nothing to do with it...
2) Accepted membership feature will be in v3.4...

You can use the Approve Registrations Mod. You can get it from Snitz Exchange (MODs link in my signature), but you'll need to wait a day or two since Nathan is restoring Snitz Exchange which has also been hacked.

Selam:)

Turkish fonts= türkce karakterler bozuldu.

Everything was fine but when I changed the name of db and went back to forum, all the Ýs were Y and Þs were another symbol:)

Will you pls suggest me a way to correct the Turkish letters in our forum??? What can be the reason for this change?

thanks

OK I understand now. Did you download your Access 97 database and accidentially open it with Office 2000 or Office XP, and answered YES to the "convert database" question?

If yes, this will convert the database to unicode, and you will lose your Turkish chars. There were some ideas on preventing the corruption, I tried all of them with no success.

Have a look at http://forum.snitz.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=17884
