I have a message board on my web site that was built with FP2K and apparently uses a LOT of system resources (my web host is getting pissy about it). So, I'm looking for a quicker message board that's not a resource hog. Can this be it?
My other questions: Do I have the ability to import the current messages from FrontPage?
Must I use all these security settings, registration, passwords, etc? I don't now and like having people be able to just post without going through all these extra steps.
I have only one board and don't really need all the bells and whistles of multiple forums, etc... I just need something that is easy to administer, easy on the posters, and will keep my web host from taking my site down because it's "too popular".
Thanks for your responses!

I know of a few you could look at...The thing you need to find out is what your hosting service server will support. They have to support .asp active server pages in order to use this Snitz forum. A couple more you could look into- do a search on www.google.com would be YaBB or Ultimate Bulletin Board and there are a few more that i forget the names of them. Try doing a search on forums, bulletin boards,bbs,etc...I found some while surfing around the net. They each have different formats so the host has to be able to support that particular extension, format? I'm no genius(notice my handle) and new to all this mind twisting data geek stuff. Why dont you just switch your website over to snitz since they do hosting and then you can use their Snitz forum on your site.

last time I checked Snitz doesn't do any hosting. Now with that out of the way, in order for you to be able to use Snitz your host must have support for ASP. That means either a Windows server or a UNIX server with Chili!Soft or iASP installed. If those aren't there, you won't be able to use Snitz. Second, if your host allows ASP, you need to look into the database posibilities: Access, MS SQL or MySQL. Those are the three options. Access databases are sometimes free, but if you actually do have a lot of users (20, some say 30, or more users at the same time) you might want to consider using MS SQL as your database.
Should you want to look into finding yourself another host, please post your questions for that on http://www.webbhost.net as that's a site/forum set up especially for those questions.

My mistake...I thought snitz did host. I checked the link in the forums that says "Need hosting for your Snitz forum?" and it says bandwidthunlimited.net or something like that. This other one i found must be an old one. http://www.snitz.com/services.asp
