I called and inquired after a failed attemp to get it up and running on my comcast personal web page space. I think i got close but no cigar. I'm not good with the config string modification procedures. I did get snitz to run on My Windows ME home computer by installing Personal Web Server. It seems to run fine but i haven't ran it hard yet either. The guy from comcast tells me that "yes they do support ASP" and "I can do pretty much whatever i want with my 25 megs of homepage space." If someone can tell me what 'strConnString configuration to use and database type to set up for to get Snitz running on comcast i would appreciate it. Thanks I forgot to ask him what db they use for personal web pages. I guess I'll call back. Thanks again if anyone can help.
If you don't know what database you can use, use the Access database that comes with the forum. Its called snitz_forums_2000.mdb. Upload it to your cgi-bin or database directory if one is provided and modify your connection string in your config.asp file to point to it. Use the Access 2000 connection string first. And you should be good to go.

Thanks....My biggest problems is the setup.....choosing which string to use and then having to edit it to make it work. Also...Does the link to the BB being installed have to end with default.asp ? I tried it on my comcast member page and it still didn't work but i'm betting that i didn't have the string in the forums dir configed right. When I installed snitz on Windows ME- PWS and inserted the Snitz files into the C:\Inetpub\wwwroot directory I could get the board to come up by just using http:// and my i.p. after it. If I changed my computer name in network settings identification to "wackadoo" then Personal Web Server-Manager would make the snitz forum i installed available in my web browser as http://wackadoo but i would guess that the rest of the web couldn't get to it that way. I went to my other machine and pulled my snitz board up through the browser by inserting my i.p. after http:// I guess I'll experiment until i figure it out some more. It's hard to keep track of what everything does. In computers there is so much to learn you could never know it all.
They don't support asp .the guy gave me bad info...I called back
