I tried to logout from the forum (not this one, the one installed on my site) but it keep me logged in though I got the "Succefully logged off" messege.
I faced this problem only on my machine with my forum, other sites working perfectly.

Probably a cookie problem. In Internet Explorer go to Tools->Internet Options->General Tab, and click the button to delete cookies. Then close all browser windows, open a new one, login and logout to see if it's fixed...

It would be better if you deleted the cookies manually. You can find them in your C:\Windows\Cookie folder and make sure you delete the cookie from your cache which you can find in your C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files folder.

In Windows2k/XP that folder would be C:\Documents and Settings\yourAccount\cookies

Where have you got your forum hosted at? What's the URL ?
Try flushing your cache, and check you admin options
Jason.

hi
ruirib I don't think it is practical to delete all my cookies whenever I want to logoff the forum
Davio It is the same friend, I have 100's of cookies and temp internet files on my machine, it would be a hell of job.
Jason hmmmmm.. but it is only me. others don't have the same problem ?
Note: I have to switch between to ID's from time to time, coz one is a reguler user and one for administrative tasks.

I don't think you'll need to do that everytime. But as far as I know you can't sort this out without deleting the cookies...

Sometimes one cookie gets stuck.
Seems to happen particularly often with IE 6.0

Hmmm, going to the folder, pressing Ctrl + A, then the Delete button doesn't sound like a hell of a job to me.
You can delete the individual cookies that your forum set, but you wouldn't know the name of it, so it would be easier if you just deleted your Cache and your Cookies. And this is a one time deal.
This problem usually occurs when the admin changes the cookie location in the Admin options. When he does that, the browser cannot find the cookie to delete it. When you delete your cookies, the browser will create a new one in the new location, and your problems will be solved.
And that's the only way to solve your problem.
