Hi,

I would like to setup Amharic(Ethiopian Language) forum using Geez(Ethiopic writing system) check http://www.ethiozena.net on how Geez works on the web. Geez uses a specific font to be displayed on the Internet. I am wondering if I could include somehow this font in the forum so the users don't have to download the font. And also the user need to use a diffent keyboard layout if they want to post aricle in Amharic.

Is it possible to implement this on this forum? If so, is there anyone out there who would like to work on this project with me.

Thanks

Alem

Currently the only other way I know is embedding the fonts. As far as I can remember it only works for IE 5 and up. Users with other browsers must DL the code. Currently we do not plan input device support (for v4.0 final).

I'll look to these concepts and return here.

If you want to prepare a language pack for Snitz v4, you can use LCID=90020, as your locale is not listed in NLS. You may like to visit the link in my signature.

Check this tool: http://www.microsoft.com/typography/web/embedding/weft3/default.htm

And these links:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/workshop/author/fontembed/font_embed.asp

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/gdi/fontext_9i7n.asp

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/gdi/fontext_7qb8.asp

Check if it works with your font first. Then you can analyse the results and play with forum files.

It seems that they are supported by IE4 up. But they will behave best with CSS.
