As I said, the only changes made to those files were the on error goto 0 statement and the Server.ScriptTimeout value. No other code has been changed. So only add those code. Ignore any other code changes.

Please be patient with me.
You're saying add on error goto 0 to each of the files and then the MOD will work?
Since I am starting from scratch, I realize I will have to open the key files and make the *** MOD *** changes to them. Which brings me to my other question:
When I am comparing the two files (the current one) and the MOD one, and I'm making the changes....
Let's say the MOD file is on the left and the old one is on the right.
I realize that I am adding any new (red) stuff on the left to the right. But what if there's red stuff on both sides? DO I overwrite the previous stuff on the right?
Thanks, Dave

Guess what, just do the change I posted above to your inc_profile.asp file. That should fix the rs error. Then we will move on from there.

Hi Davio: Let me explain here. Because I've been taking so long, I deleted the email mod files, and reuploaded my original files, before I made the changes.
This is because no one could regiser on my site.
So now I have to reedit the files and add the *** EMAIL VAL MOD *** in the appropriate places.
When I am comparing the two files (the current one) and the MOD one, and I'm making the changes (using Beyond Compare)....
Let's say the MOD file is on the left and the old one is on the right.
I realize that I am adding any new (red) stuff on the left to the right. But what if there's red stuff on both sides? DO I overwrite the previous stuff on the right?
What should I do? I don't want to make changes this time until I am 100% on what to do.
Thanks, Dave

spotted, I can't tell you what to do there because I don't know what code you are replacing. And it seems you don't know if the code would help you or not. I had told you that only the on error goto 0 statements where added to the files along with the modification of the Server.ScriptTimeout value. If the code that you are replacing it with does not include those statements then don't replace it.

Man. Here is an example of my problem:
http://spottted.brinkster.net/example.bmp
Do I overwrite the red text from the left to the right?
Thanks Dave.
PS: The reason why I started a new topic is because I am in a rush to get this up and running again. It's quite urgent. I can't depend on a message from you every 24hrs, and I was hoping there may be a simple answer to my question that someone else may know.

So when you add mods you add it to your live forum? It would be beneficial to your users if you had a local copy of your forum and do all your tests there before making them to your live forum.
Instead of saving your pictures as .bmp files why don't you save them as .gif or .jpg? Even .png would do. .bmp format has no compression at all, and it takes a year and a half to load on my 56k.
If you really think it would help you any quicker I will re-open back your other topic.

You need to copy and paste the code yourself when adding the mod, you can't use Beyond Compare to do this. Post a link to a txt version of your inc_profile.asp file and I will do it for you.

I know. I just don't know where i should copy the files to? The live ones are in the WEBROOT, should I make a TEST directory from there?

I know, I know. It's because I'm at work, I have no way to convert an image file. I'm stuck with basic stuff to work with here so...

No, that's okay, I really do appreciate your help.
Thanks, Dave

Thank you so much. My URL is: http://spottted.brinkster.net
Now I can register as a new user and get the new registration info. But once I register I can post messages freely.
I think I still have to make changes to a few more files, but those are the ones that have the conflicting red text in them
WHat do I do?
