Two questions here :

Firstly, on my forum, if you type in a message but accidentally forget to put a Subject.....it takes you to the problem page....which ok, and then automatically takes you to the post page again to correct the problem.....

but, it loses everything that was typed......and you have to type it all again.

I have tested this on here, and there is no problem, so it must be something to do with my particular Forum.

My second issue is to do with the PM Mods......I see at the exchange there is a PM Mod and a PM Pager Mod......

Which one of these MOD's gives a Pop-Up alert when you get a PM.....rather than only getting notification on refresh of the main page.

Thanks in advance,

First problem will occur if you are using the RTE mod.

Second question, I think you have to have both the pager and the PM mod to get the alerts, but I'm not sure.

the PM Pager MOD is an Add-On to the Private Messages MOD.

There isn't a popup feature in just the Private Messages MOD. If there is one in the PM Pager MOD, then yes, you do have to install both. The PM Pager MOD is an Add-On to the Private Messages MOD, so you have to have the Private Messages MOD installed to be able to add the PM Pager MOD.

This has happened to me already. I hated when it did that.

When you get an error about missing data it says you need to go back and it uses history.go(-1) to send you back. Which is like hitting the back button on your browser. This should send you back with all the info you inputted in the form. But, it will refresh the page instead (minus your info), if you opened a new window while you were on the post.asp page. And I believe you might have hit the preview button while on that page. So it reloaded post.asp, without your info.

Happens to me quite a few times on here. Especially if I typed a long post.

Yes, that is annoying. When I type a long post into my forums I usually ctrl-a ctrl-c it before submitting. That's saved me from grief quite a few times in the past!

It happens because you opened a new window (the preview window to be exact but can be any new window) and when that happens, when ypu try to come back to the page using the back button it will reload it, losing all of your form data. If you didn't open any new windows (like the preview window) then it will keep the form data intact when you click the back button. That's how IE works.
