On my home page, I'd like to display the most recent 5 or 10 posts.. with a link so users can click and go right to the thread.

Can this be done? If so, please explain.

Can anyone tell me the difference between the following two MODs?

1. Slash MOD (http://www.ls3k.com/snitz/mods.asp?action=details&ID=31)

2. Syndication MOD (http://www.heptite.com/snitzinfo/)

After searching the forums, almost every post that asks for a mod that displays "top 10" or similar gives these two mods in response.

Do they both work with the latest versions? Are they the same thing?

I'm pretty sure that Slash MOD is to put on your site and Syndication is for showing your top 10 on a completely different site.

But couldn't you still use the Syndication Mod on the same site? The syndication mod seems MUCH easier to use..

Any thoughts on that?

Dunno, I only read through what the syndication MOD does and never actually installed it. Honestly, I use the Content Display MOD because it has sooooooo many features but it is a toughie to set up. I found the Slash MOD to be pretty simple back when I used it. You could just give the Syndication MOD a try and see if it behaves as you intend.
