The message size for Private Messages is only limited by the database. The Message can be the same size as a topic or reply in the forum. |

In your database, look for the FORUM_PM table. The field that holds the Message is M_MESSAGE.
In an Access DB, the field is a MEMO field, which really has no limit except for the size of the database. The total database size is limited to 2GB I believe. |

CREATE TABLE FORUM_PM( M_ID COUNTER CONSTRAINT PrimaryKey PRIMARY KEY , M_SUBJECT text (50) NULL , M_FROM int NULL , M_TO int NULL , M_SENT text (50) NULL , M_MESSAGE text NULL , M_PMCOUNT text (50) NULL , M_READ int NULL , M_MAIL text (50) NULL , M_OUTBOX smallint NULL )
I found this when I upload PM.dbs (in Snitz Forums Modifications), is everything OK?

Can you put your database in a .zip file and e-mail it to:
richard_kinser@yahoo.com
I'll take a look at it and see if I can find anything wrong. |

Well, for some reason, your M_MESSAGE field in the FORUM_PM table is set to:
text (255)
it should be set to:
memo
You can do this by opening the database in Microsoft Access, there will be a list of the tables in that database. right-click on FORUM_PM and choose Design View.
Now choose the M_MESSAGE field and then change the datatype to MEMO.
That should fix it. |
