IPblock only requires an INCLUDE file to be copied into the inc_header.asp file so installation was extremely easy. IPgate was a little more complicated but I checked it 3 times. With IPgate though I was able to log all members coming to the site so that part worked. I just cannot ban anyone using either programs. |

That sounds like you missed or misplaced some of code for the IPGate mod you entered. Post a topic about IPGate in the Help: MOD Implementation, and Im sure that some who has applied both IPGate and AU will help you.
When it comes to IPblock, Im not that sure what the problem could be. Did you modify the ipbanlist.inc to include the ip's you wanted to ban? |

I did indeed. I tested it with a single address which you need to still use the same format of 1.2.3.4-1.2.3.4 as per the example. You can hardly go wrong with this mod. It's just so frustrating. |

want to ask a few questions. Do I need to install the language packs? Can I skip that step? I run sql server, V3.4.03. Got the avatar, smilie, events and few other mod running. Will there be any problem as I tried this one out once and it did not work for me. |

You need to install atleast one language-pack, as all the text-strings used by the AU mod is stored in them. You could modify langMODS_Ls3kAU4.asp, if you are only going to use one language (english in the following example):
'## SNITZ FORUM 2000 MOD LANGUAGE FILE '## Mod Active Users 4.0 '## Author: Nathan Bales
%> <!--#INCLUDE FILE="LangMODS_Ls3kAU4_1033.asp" -->

Wondering why it states in the readme, Don't use FrontPage for this? I have FP2k2 and I have made some small changes already to inc_header file and uploaded it with FP. I didn't notice anything wrong with the file afterwards.
Assuming that, it's not written in Red, Dreamweaver MX is alright to use?
Thanks, KelleN |

Just a small note:
the supplied readme is excellent, however I think something important is missing:
Tell people to temporarily change their connectstring to one that logs in using administrator rights. This is needed for the 'drop table command'.
Many users, including myself, connect using a limited account. Setting up a mod like like active users will fail under these circumstances ...
Other than that: GREAT MOD! |

What is the difference between Active Users Page and the Active Users Panel? I have both of those option on but I don't see any link or option to get to this page. What am I missing? Thanks!! |

Nevermind. Found it. Didn't realize it was a link on the panel. |

Active User Issue. I have noticed that if I log out and log back in my 2nd log is treated as a guest log in. I discovered it was me by tracing the ip address. Both IP's trace back to my node.
Is there a way to "refresh" the information, so that Guests do not appear. Our forum is only viewable by the active members therefore we should be impossible for a true guest to be logged in. |
