i'm wondering why the name of snitz still Snitz 2000 then you put the version 3.3...etc. why it's not 2002 only..
e.g
current: Snitz Forums 2000 v3.3.03 the way i wish to be: Snitz Forums 2002 v1.0..etc.
why? is there is a reason for keeping the 2000
thanks for any explaination

Because it's not based on a year. It was named Snitz Forums 2000. |

I hate repeating myself... Snitz Forums 2000 is the product name, not a version name. You can't just go around changing a product name every year.
And why would it be changed to Snitz.Net if there's no .Net version?

There have been several discussions about Snitz being converted to .NET. To recap it for you: it won't happen until there are enough hosts that offer .NET hosting at an affordable price. Also, it wouldn't mean just a conversion, but a total re-write from scratch.

I haven't paid much attention to the whole .NET hype because the real, unbiassed, information won't be there until it's been tested enough and some real-life results have been shwon, but it's supposed to be more stable and faster for one. You'd have to go to http://www.microsoft.com for more information on the whole .NET story or wait until someone else replies who can give you more information than I can.

I agree that the name should be changed (regardless of the version/product name arguement).
When I was looking for an ASP forum solution... I came very close to skipping over Snitz because the product name makes it sound dated.
I am very glad I did not, but I think there is the possibility of losing some portion of your potential audience due to this.
Plus, it makes my website look dated since my members do not know (or care) about the product name vs the product version.
My 2 cents,

I ain't gonna lie. it wouldn't hurt to lose the 2000 from the name. Buy, I'm not the owner so...I will continue to enjoy whether it's snitz, snitz2000 or snitz 1978

Okay, the 2000 makes it sound old, right? So according to you Twentieth Century Fox (20th Century Fox) should change it's name to Twentyfirst Century Fox (21st Century Fox) too because it's old?
Come on guys...

The problem is, that many software companies (Microsoft) user the year to version thier software. Ex: Win95, Win98, Win2000
So it is a valid argument. . . not that I agree with it.
