His database is MySQL, all those queries that use top need to be converted to LIMIT.

Richard has created a function that will do this for you to make MySQL implmentation easier.

My database is MS Access 2000.

I did listen to what you were saying, and did remove it from the last part! Due to it not working, I put it back in!

If you look at the SELECT QUERIES that I posted above, you will find that the second to last one does not have that piece of code in anyway! So I couldn't of removed it from there!

Nathan, the link you gave me took me to a post about search results, and how to limit them to 5-100 etc. Sorry.

Crash, I appreciate all the help, but wouldn't it be better if you were a little friendly to the people you were trying to help?

If you could just say if I will be able to get that part of the inc_topmembers.asp working, and if so how, that would be great!
If its not possible to get working, then I will just delete the code which shows the last members date.

Thanks for all the help so far!

dear mortioli,

i am a very loving person and i can get along just fine with loads of people. when i ask people to read the info i post on my site, i expect them to do so. if they choose to do not, then i choose to not help. i will not say things endlessly. surely you will understand.

the modded inc_topmembers.asp i created is meant to be used on Huwr's code, and NOT on any other kind of Snitz version. of course, in some cases it might just work. well, that's a bit of luck for the one who tried it. if it doesn't, then at least you will know that it wasn't designed to work on that version of the code.

about your file you sent me: i cannot remember all posts i have made and read on all those forums, so forgive me if i forgot you posted the SELECT queries in which you already had removed the things i asked you to. i just open the file and find it hardcoded in there. it's not that strange that i thought you hadn't listened, now is it?

alright, now that we have that sorted out, let's continue with the real problem for this is already taking too much time.

you have a problem with the displayDate function... have you checked your inc_functions.asp to see if it's there and if so, could you post it here? we can them compare my function with yours and see what happens

If I remember rightly, at the time that I downloaded the MOD, it didn't say which version it was for, but I may be wrong.

Anyway, sorry if I have caused a nuisance, its just I'd like the top members on my site!

I also thought that it might work, and may only be for Huwrs, because of the portal layout.

My inc_functions.asp doesn't have the displayDate. Heres the link to my file:

Zipped Functions

Once again, thanks for the help, and sorry what I said!

What I did was look at Huwrs inc_functions.asp, and copied the displayDate function, and placed into mine.

The dates now show up!

But, inc_functions now has two sets of date functions which are the same apart from the name! Is this right?

Is there anyway of having one function, with two names?

Yeah, it works fine now!

Harsh fixed the error on my forum (the one about BOF and EOF), which no-one knew how to fix. He has also helped with a lot of other things.
