I had an AOL user spam me, if I ban them, do I ban the entire series?? I searched but didn't find it, although I though I had read this months ago. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Chuck,
My understanding is that AOL users have their IP varying quite frequently, so it seems there is really no point in banning the IP, as it is very likely that you'll in fact ban someone else and not the guy you are chasing.
The only way I see to protect you from this type of users is using something like the Approve Registrations Mod, that you can find in Snitz Exchange (just click the MOD's link below...). That way you can lock badly behaved members and any new members can only be admitted with your explicit approval, thus difficulting new registrations from bad behavioured users under new names.

Thanks Rui, I downloaded a couple of the mods, including the one you mentioned. I will see how they look prior to installing. It is always a touchy issue when dealing with security to me.

Rui-I d/l the following mods for this problem:
Email Random Password Validate User MOD
Email random password wont help me yet, because CDONTS isn't working. Validate User MOD is for validating minors.
Anyone else?
Question for anyone:
Will the HTML EMAIL MOD thing work and help me in anyway??
