Now, this is what happens. Whenever I use a script to send email to myself (whether it's written in ASP, Perl or PHP), the sender's address MUST be me@localhost.com. If I try to edit it, the mail won't be sent! What's happening? Pls don't tell me it's because I don't have a domain, because I can use any sender's address in Red Hat Linux 7.2.

In case you need to know, I'm using Windows 2000, IIS 5.0.

Also, II can't use localhost or 127.0.0.1 as the mail server address. I'm behind a router in order to share a cable modem (I'm using the IP address the router assign me, which is 192.168.1.3). Is this the cause? If yes, any workaround or solution to use localhost/127.0.0.1? Because I can't use localhost, I must configure relay in such a way that I must allow 192.168.1.3 to relay mails on my server. Isn't this ridiculous?

I will really appreciate an assistance! A big thank you in advance to anyone who wish to offer me some help.

Open up your router's config and open up port number 25.

For my router that is done in the acvanced>virtal server tab.

Then how about my first problem, which is more frustrating than the first?

Once you get the port open, then it should not matter what address it is. . .
