By the sound of your problem I'd say you're using a version 4.x beta. Open your langNNNN.asp file and do a search & replace for ="* and replace it with =" That should fix your problem.
Just as a general tip for all people using version 4.x beta versions: check Bozden's signature regularly as there's usually a link to a topic with bug fixes and/or other important info there.
The "*" were used to find any missing strings that are not collected. Follow the link in my signature to download the patches, which also remedy this "*" problem.
