Does anyone know if it is possible to mod the snitz forums so they work with smiles like all the other forums ??

If it is, has anyone done it ? And is it worth me looking into it ?!

I have tried the smile mod addon but that only takes smiles if they have square brackets around them :(

the smile mod has a function in it to add smilies to your forum. smile manager is its name. try a search here for smile manager.

That aint what I meant I wanted to know if you could get it to work like all other forums so it accepted stuff like :) and :D

Smile manager wont allow this either

The catagorised icon mod by Chiz let's you do this. I have it on mine and lets you set the values for the smilies in admin. ie, :) produces what your looking for.

I believe you can achieve what you want by editing inc_functions.asp to accept the value ;) instead of the current code for

Try removing the ['s and ]'s from the smiley codes in inc_functions.asp, but remember to keep a backup copy of your current file before you make any changes!

In addition to the smile manager mod there is the more smilies mod available at http://ozroot.com/forums/

Sadly I have no support for adding smilies using [ :)] [ ;)] strings.
