It was just over a year ago that I discovered Snitz, when I was looking for a free script that would enable me to host my own Forums. At that time, I was a *complete* Scripting Newbie, and knew nothing whatsoever about ASP, VB Script, Databases, etc, but as I began to learn more and more about those things through Snitz Forums and the Mods, I realised that this was something that I really enjoyed doing. Now, I'm a 38 year old Stay-at-Home Wife and Mother, and in my entire 38 years I have *never* known what I want to do with my life - what kind of Career I really want, what I want to be. This used to frustrate me at times, as I would see other Women who knew what they wanted to do, and were working towards achieving that Goal, yet here was me, at a complete loss as to what she wanted. Until I found Snitz..............

Prior to Snitz, I had dabbled in many different areas of Computering, and whilst I found them okay things to do, they certainly were not things I wanted to make a Career out of doing. But when I discovered ASP and VB Script through working with Snitz, I realised that this was something that I really enjoyed doing - it was like I had found my niche. So, I've decided that I want to be a Computer Programmer, initially focussing on Visual Basic, but later extending to other Programming Languages. Not only have I set myself that Goal, but just last week I took my first step to achieving that Goal, and that is to go back to High School to get some Computering Qualifications. At the moment, I have the Computer Skills, but I am self-taught, so don't have anything that shows I am Qualified. I am doing Year 13 Computering (the last year anyone can be at High School), and next year I plan on doing a Visual Basic Programming Course. Finally, I have a Goal, I have found what it is I want to do/be - and it is all thanks to Snitz!

To many here, this may seem minor, but to me, it isn't. As a result of knowing what I want to do, I am a happier person, which makes me a nicer Wife and Mum to be around. Not only that, but when the day comes that I am able to find Employment as a Computer Programmer, my family will benefit greatly due to the higher Income. We are a family of 6, struggling to survive on my Husband's unpredictable Income, so this would benefit us all very much.

So, to the Developers of Snitz, I salute you. You probably never realised just how much of an effect Snitz would have on other people's lives!

Such is the Far Reaching Effects of Snitz

Shalom,
Martha2Mary

Good luck, and I'm glad Snitz has helped you find out what you want to do.
For me it started out as something fun, now it's become part of my life (almost an adiction ). If I had the patience to study, I'd probably take classes on VB.net and C# and the other important programming languages, but I'm just a graphics guy.

I too thank Snitz as without it I wouldn't have been able to help all the people I've made logos for and you can't believe how rewarding it is to receive e-mails like these:

quote:

You have no idea how much I appreciate this hard work you are doing for us!
I may not show it but I really am soo thankful!

I think that many people are in the same boat as you mary, and I am one of them. I wanted to start to learn ASP so I started reading, I was not getting that much out of the books, then I came across Snitz and it taught me more then any book I have read. Now I feel very comfortable saying that I can program anything I need in ASP. Before when I used to build websites for people I was only making $1,000 - $2,000 per a website. Now this has jumped up since I can add much more advanced features to websites. So now I am starting my largest project that I have every had, a $16,000 website which all I can do is thank Snitz for everything I have learned.

So I feel the same way as Mary, and would like to thank everyone along with Mary for the great program.
