Kal Corp,
Do a search for <b>F_USERLIST</b> in <b>inc_functions.asp</b> and remove all instances of it.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> HuwR,
Could you zip the files you have fixed and send them to me? (provided of course that you only fixed and didn't insert any big MOD's <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>)
This should save some considerable time in trying to follow the above mentioned fixes :)
Thanks!

No prob, I've just sent them, I have a copy without any mods except the URL fix and nested quotes fix.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> Iv'e seen this behaviour before, so I checked some files, so far I have found dodgy chars again in admin_count and inc_top

to remove them try opening and then saving the file in your editor, this works on mine.
I have explained about these on previous releases.

I've seen those when text files are FTP'ed using Binary instead of ASCII. Also when some word processors wrap lines, they may include these characters. It's killed a few of my PERL scripts in the past. It's the most annoying thing to track down.
Someone may want to try and not to send or save ASCII files as Binary. I would look at how your sending/saving/editing these files to find out how those charaters get in there.
This is not an order, just a precation / tip :)

I don't mean to jump in out of the blue but I am finding these "dogy characters" all over the place as well. I have rarely seen them in code before and I don't know what type of editor leaves them, but I would imagine they could be a problem. I was able to do a search and delete on them and removed dozens from each page. Is anyone using an editor that normally isn't used for this kind of stuff? It is curious.
PS: Come to think of it, I think you are right about the FTP thing. That might be when it happened before, transfering in binary. FrontPage also makes a mess of ASP files many times when you use it to upload.

Are the "dodgy" things the only bugs not fixed in this version?

I was very interested in jumping in here to test out some things on this SR, and I am now glad I had found the time. I have tested with I.E. 4.0, 5.0, 5.5 and N.S 4.3, 4.7, 6.0 the only thing I could find wrong is, of course it would be netscape and the tables:

Well I have <b>REALLY</b> helped here huh?

There is another problem with the reply to topic screen being black in Netscape 6.0 as well. We have been talking about it here:
Anyone seen Snitz in Netscape 6.0 yet?
It only shows up when you reply to or start a new post.

Netscape doesn't like us using names for colors instead of the HEX CODES. Trying changing <b>navyblue</b> to it's HEX CODE of <b>A0B0E0</b> (this is for <b>Pop-Up Table Color</b>) |

Ok... now I don't want to hear anyone talking bad about Microsoft not being Backwards or Forwards Compatible <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
Score one big one for Netscape.

You have to change the colour also in the "search" box, Netscape 6 renders it black too.

Ok, I just couldn't resist. IE reads it either way, by name or by hex code, while NS will only read it by hex code. How is that a big score for NS? I don't want to flame, just a point of clarification ~ I thought I followed you up to a point. <img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>
